Edgewater Group is a family-led engineering firm rooted in a multi-generational commitment to waterfront development and coastal infrastructure.
The firm is led by Ronald Schults, P.E., and his son, Erik Schults, P.E., whose combined leadership reflects more than 55 years of experience in marine engineering and shoreline development.
Ronald Schults, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, began his career in marine and waterfront engineering over four decades ago. Throughout his career, he has designed and overseen hundreds of marina and coastal infrastructure projects across the United States and internationally, building a reputation for practical, experience-driven engineering solutions.
Today, Erik Schults, President, leads the firm’s day-to-day operations, engineering execution, and project management. Working closely with his father, he continues the firm’s tradition of hands-on leadership, ensuring that every project benefits from direct principal involvement and a clear understanding of both technical and real-world project considerations

Edgewater Group is a Florida-based multidisciplinary engineering, architectural, and planning firm specializing in coastal and marine infrastructure. With a focused expertise in waterfront development, the firm delivers integrated solutions that support projects from early feasibility through design, permitting, and construction.
Originally established in 2010 to provide waterfront planning and marina engineering services, the firm has expanded to meet the growing complexity of coastal projects. Today, Edgewater Group offers a comprehensive range of services, including coastal engineering, marine structural design, environmental consulting, resiliency planning, and architectural support. This integrated approach allows clients to navigate every stage of development with a single, coordinated team.
Our work spans seawall evaluation and rehabilitation, marina and dock system design, shoreline stabilization, and support for both public and private waterfront developments. We regularly partner with municipalities, developers, and waterfront property owners to deliver projects that are technically sound, economically viable, and aligned with regulatory requirements.
