Apalachicola Riverfront Revitalization
Following the devastation caused by Hurricane Michael, the City of Apalachicola was awarded a Community Development Block Grant for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR M0034) to rebuild critical coastal infrastructure.
Edgewater Group has played an instrumental role in advancing this effort, providing comprehensive engineering and permitting services in close coordination with FEMA and state regulatory agencies. Our scope includes the design of engineered boardwalks, docks, retaining walls, and slips, as well as securing submerged lands leases, conducting water quality monitoring, and navigating complex state and federal permitting requirements.
Through detailed field assessments, ongoing coordination with FEMA, and proactive project management, we are helping the City restore approximately two miles of resilient, functional waterfront. These improvements enhance community safety while increasing coastal accessibility for years to come.
